Types of Jobs
There are many jobs available through American Airlines. Many are entry level, such as fleet service agents, ticket service agents, and flight attendants. Other positions, such as management and pilots, require advanced training and sometimes, years of experience.
Customer service positions begin at around $10 per hour, and can go up to $14 per hour, depending on experience. Fleet service agents can expect to make between $12 and $15 an hour, as an average. These positions are the face of the company. They are the people that you speak to when buying tickets, when picking them up, and when loading your luggage.
Flight attendants are the other side of the visible part of the company. These people are stationed on the planes, making sure that all on board stay safe and happy. Other positions may require a collegiate degree and advanced training. Managers are expected to have great interpersonal skills and have a business degree or relevant experience. Pilots must have more than the minimum number of solo flight hours and commercial experience is often a plus.
