Why Hollister?
Hollister presents a fresh, West Coast style. For many younger adults, this brand is their default first stop when they’re in the mall or shopping online, and they’ve grown very quickly in the decade-plus that they’ve been open. Thanks to this popularity, Hollister stores tend to do great business, leading to job stability for hard working employees.
Hollister offers benefits to their employees. Qualified employees can get health insurance, vacation time, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement accounts. All employees receive store discounts.
Who Can Apply?
You need to be 16 to apply to work at Hollister. Fulltime jobs require you to be at least 18. You don’t need to have a high school diploma to gain a job here, but if you want to move up into management, this is a must. Having retail experience is not needed—many people use this as their first job—but you should have good fashion sense, present yourself well, and have great people skills.
What’s Expected?
Because many of the employees at this company are younger, hiring managers stress responsibility. You should always be at each of your scheduled shifts, you should be on time, and you should have a thorough knowledge of the store, what is carried, and where things are located. Loss prevention is always stressed, as well, so you are expected to report suspicious behavior if you see it. Certain dress codes must be adhered to, so be sure that you are wearing the appropriate clothing whenever you are in the store.

This is not a job where you need to wear a shirt and tie to go in for your interview, but you do need to dress nicely. You should wear Hollister brand clothes for this. If you go in to pick up an application, make sure to do the same. In both cases, this is the first impression that you will be giving a hiring manager, and you need to make it a good one. Be sure to answer questions thoroughly, and have a few of your own questions prepared too. This will let a hiring manager know that you’ve put thought into the position that you are applying for and you are ready to take it seriously.
