I was wondering if a company could not hire me because of my race. I’m not white, but a girl that was got the job instead of me. We had a group interview together. Just wondering.
A company cannot legally use race, sex, religion, or anything like that when making a decision about whether or not they are going to hire somebody. They can use things like education, availability of transportation, past work history, and other things, though. If you legitimately believe that you were discriminated in the hiring process, you should consider contacting an attorney for further information and they can guide you through the process from there. We are not legal professionals here, so that’s out of our area of expertise!
