I was going to fill out an online application for a job, but I wasn’t quite happy with the pay that they posted. I am looking for at least $15 an hour, and this position is advertised at $12. Is the pay fixed here or should I apply?

In instances like this, pay is almost never set in stone. However, in order to get that much of an increase in pay, you would need to make a very good case for why you are the best choice for the company. However, at this stage in the game, this should not be a priority. If you really want the job, go ahead and submit the application. It won’t be until a job offer is on the table that you will want to start negotiating pay.
