I was asked after submitting my job application online the other day if I wanted to save my resume. It was on one of the general job search sites, and it said that this way employers would be able to better search for me. Is this actually helpful?
Posting your resume does increase your chances of exposure, but not by much, especially if you use one of the huge job sites. If you decide to use this method, do not rely on it too heavily. It increases your chances of an employer finding you, but there’s very little chance that it will be the type of job that you would want, and it also increases your chances of scammers gaining access to your email address. We encourage you to keep applying to jobs as you normally would even if you think that this is the best move for you and your career.
