are there any tricks or strategies that might help me get ready for a phone interview? I’ve never had one before, so I’m not sure what to do.
Phone interviews typically ask more generic questions than in-person interviews, and are used mostly for screening large numbers of seemingly qualified applicants. This might sound like they are easier at first, but you need to do a great job if you want to be considered. First, make sure you are aware of some of the more popular interview questions. Second, when it’s time for the call, treat it like you were at an actual interview by being free of distractions, dressing professionally, and be sure that you are sitting down–not laying down or moving around.
