I applied to a job on Craigslist, but they said that I don’t need to fill out any sort of tax papers when I get the job. This seems kind of sketchy, is it?

If you are being asked to come on as a fulltime employee, yes this is sketchy. However, many employers do hire employees on a contractual basis as freelancers, and in this instance, your tax paperwork isn’t needed until the end of the year. Still, you should trust your instincts on this call. If you feel that you are being scammed, then do not proceed forward with the application or interview process.
